Over the years I've come across a few books that I've found to be very helpful in
my spiritual journey.  For your convenience I've included a synopsis and a link to
purchase the books through amazon.  Feel free to find a better deal elsewhere if
you can.  I hope you find this helpful!
"12 Christian Beliefs that can drive you Crazy"
This book goes into 12 commonly held  beliefs that sound very Christian but in
fact are not.  Chapters 2 and 11 were of particular interest to me as I began to
deal with my beliefs that God would keep me safe as long as I was "good enough."

"Safe People"
While this book was mainly teaching how to surround yourself with safe nurturing
relationships I found it to be very convicting.  You see many of the qualities of
"unsafe" people that it was saying that I should avoid, wound up being qualities
that I found in myself.

"The Mom Factor"
When I first started to read this book I thought - "Wow It's funny how psychologists
are always trying to get people to blame everything on their mom's!"  By the end I
began to realize that while my "issues" were not caused by my mother, my view of
the world was greatly influenced by her.  Read this if you relationship with your
mom is good, bad, or in between.  Read it especially if you are a mom yourself.
