God gave Carlos the job of a lifetime, only Carlos turned it into
something else. God assigned him the simple task of owning his
emotions and sinful nature. Carlos changed the job description to one
of avoiding pain and sin by trying to be 'really spiritual'. Growing up as a
perfectionist, his greatest fear was someone seeing his inadequacies.
Eventually, the man behind the facade began dealing with his pride
and fear of failure. "I was so busy trying to be spiritual by serving God
that I began to lose sight of Him. I found myself critical, without joy and
needing a change," says Carlos.
Carlos brings a musical message of hope to believers who are
exhausted from the hard work of holding the position of 'Super
Christian '. His authenticity and sincerity challenge listeners to
embrace the truth about themselves. "I realized that I’d lived much of
my life without accepting God’s grace and mercy. As I’m learning to let
go, God is healing me and equipping me to reach out with
compassion," says Santiago.
If you ask Carlos Santiago, illustrating the grace of Christ through
music is indeed the job of a lifetime. Only now it doesn't feel like work.
